Houghton Earns Coalition of
Black Trade Unionist Endorsement
Wilmington, Delaware: Vivian
Houghton, Green Party candidate for Delaware Attorney General has received
the endorsement of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists of Delaware (CBTU-DE).
This follows on the heals of Houghton receiving the endorsement of
the UAW CAP Council last week.
"Receiving the Coalition
of Black Trade Unionists of DE endorsement is very significant to me,"
said Houghton. "My campaign is all about empowering and bringing
together people of diverse cultures, races and beliefs. Having CBTU-DE
recognize our work and vision builds upon our grassroots efforts to create
positive change for Delaware."
"Vivian has earned the
CBTU-DE endorsement through her years of work for civil and union rights,"
said Mel Phillips of CBTU-DE. "We urge all union brothers and
sisters to support and vote for Vivian."
The CBTU is a catalyst for
progressive social and political action. It provides data and
information relevant to the lives of African American workers and the
unions and communities that they support.
